Beef stew with tomatosalad and rice

This lovley stew is easy to make and tastes amazing. Even the kids like it !


  • Prep Time: 10 min Cooking Time: 20-25 min

  • 4 servings

  • 500 g sirloin steak
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 5 dl cream
  • 1.5 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • Chinese soya
  • red wine vinegar
  • fresh leaf parsley, chopped
  • butter, for frying

Tomatosalad:

  • 2 tomatoes
  • 0.5 red onion
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt
  • powdered sugar
  • black pepper

For serving:

  • 4 port. rice

Cook the rice according to the instructions on the package.
Cut the sirloin steak into strips.
Fry the leaf steak in butter at a high temperature in a frying pan until the meat has a nice colour. Remove and set aside.

Peel and shred the red onion and finely chop the garlic (the onion can also be grated if desired)
Saute onion and garlic in butter over medium heat while stirring in the frying pan.
Return the meat to the frying pan. Salt and pepper.

Pour on the cream, stir in the dijon mustard. Let boil for 5 minutes. Add some soy for saltiness and color. Season to taste with salt, black pepper and vinegar.

Tomato salad:
Peel and chop the onion. Cut the tomato into rough pieces. Place onion and tomato in a bowl. Add 1 tbsp olive oil, 1/2 tbsp red wine vinegar, salt and sugar.

Serving:
Sprinkle chopped parsley over the stew and serve with rice and tomato salad.
