In this fantastic summer salad, peas, bacon, cheese, onions, celery, and mayo dressing are combined and chilled for a delightful flavor experience.

- 4 slices bacon
- ¾ cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1 (20 ounce) package fresh green peas
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- ½ cup cubed Cheddar cheese
- ⅓ cup chopped onion
In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, approximately 10 minutes. Drain the bacon on paper towels and crumble it. Reserve 1 tablespoon of bacon grease.
In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, reserved bacon grease, honey, sugar, salt, and black pepper until the dressing is smooth.
Combine bacon, peas, celery, Cheddar cheese, and onion in a bowl. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss to coat. Refrigerate until chilled, approximately 30 minutes
